Our decorative and functional bowls and other accessories are a cheerful addition to any home.
It has been a remarkable beginning and I am grateful to the over 300 fine home, gift boutiques and
catalogues that have included Sherwood Forest Design in their inventories.
Our bowls are finished with non-toxic materials and four layers of food-safe sealer were applied as a final finish. This process creates depth and allows you to enjoy this work of art as a functional salad, pasta or fruit bowl.
As a mother and an artist, I was searching for something that could incorporate my love of art and home together. People have described the pieces as
cheerful and elegant - two endearing qualities I find valuable in functional objects. I consider my self to be very fortunate - I paint designs I love in my home in the country while my young son runs outside and occasionally paints besides me.
Our success in the marketplace has enabled us to use the talent of
additional artists - most of them mothers who, like myself, wanted to stay at home with our children.
Use only wooden utensils and wash with warm soapy water. Your bowl will become a family heirloom to treasure. Enjoy!

I put food in my new bowl? |
Yes,
you can use it! Our decorative and functional
bowls are finished with non-toxic materials and
four layers of a food-safe sealer applied as a
final finish. Fill
them with salad greens and dressing, fruits or dry
foods.

What type of wood are the bowls made from? |
The bowls are made from Maple hardwood, for long
life and durability.

How
do I care for my new bowl? |
Please
use wooden utensils only.
Wash
with a warm, soapy cloth, avoiding all abrasives.
Rinse with water and dry.
Do
not soak in water or put in dishwasher.
Never
place in a microwave.
Avoid
prolonged contact with direct sunlight which will
fade the finish and dry the wood.

long will my bowl last? |
Four
layers of food safe acrylic sealer were applied as
a final finish. This process creates depth and
allows you to enjoy this work of art as a
functional salad, pasta or fruit bowl. With a
little care and maintenance your bowl will become
an heirloom.

If
you show a 15" bowl on the web site, is the
same design available in a 12" bowl?

All
designs are available
in 18", 15" 12" bowls, serving trays and
serving sets. The Wedding and Garden bowls are not available in
the 12" size. |
